Love knows neither clock or calendar

Love is not bound by place or even by touch

Love is before we met and beyond our being

Love is the crane who patiently waits and the snail who’s never late

Love is the unicorn prancing in the moonlight glowing

Love is the song made visible

And the silence in between

And love is the redbird in the sky

Upon a feathered wing

Love is the honeyed treasure of the pollen searching bee

Ellie

Love is a whisper that journeys in the breeze and finds its way to the very heart of me

Love is the silk that weaves miss spider’s web

Love is the lace crafted of cotton thread

Love is the hand that holds the needle

Love is the needle that stitches the cloth

Love is in the breathing

And in the letting go

Love is pure and gentle

As soft as the falling snow

Miss Fred

Love is September’s brightest yellow

Love is October’s bold tangerine

Love unfolds in twilight

And warms with the setting sun

November love is deep wine red and readies the soul

For December’s gift that is yet to come…

    1. I had to go through a lot of pictures of Jack to find one that calm 😉. But then I admit I had a terrible time narrowing it down to just these. I laughed at some and got a little tear at others. Thank you! 🤗💕✨🐾☀️🦋

    1. Thank you so much, Liz!
I lost Ellie back in the spring.
A great deal of sadness there of course.
But, all is well and fine here.
They are sweet and funny and wonderful!
      Take care, Suzanne ☺️

    1. Carol Anne, thank you for your lovely thoughts! Yes! Dogs are such a sweet gift. And I have to tell you that your name is beautiful! It reminds me of a very good friend of mine in childhood. Her mother’s name was Carol Anne and she was delightful. Take care! 💕

  2. Love the poem, love the photos! Great to see you back! Those are some mighty photogenic dogs and this was the first time I met Miss Fred who I’m willing to bet rules the roost over the pups. What was outside the window that caused the dogs to line up? Squirrel?

    1. Thank you, thank you! Nice to be back! You cannot imagine how many blurry photos I have that make no sense at all 😂. I should gather those up and do something with them. That’s real life. You wouldn’t know anything about that, would you?! Miss Fred gets everything she wants when she wants it and no arguments. It was the UPS truck making a drop off at the neighbor’s house. They were all very concerned 😂. Squirrels do inspire the same kind of reaction, though. Also, I wanted to share with you that I lost Ellie back in the spring. She was a one of a kind girl. I still miss her. Thanks again for the encouragement. Can’t wait to come catch up on Max and his shenanigans or those are yours and Max is the good one 😄.

      1. Miss Fred has that bossy but sweet cat look and I’m sure she has a certain tolerance level for dogs and they are in trouble if they push the envelope. I mourn with you the loss of Ellie. If only science could devise a way that our doggies could stay longer with us; their lives are always too short. I imagine the UPS driver, seeing all those dogs faces looking so intently at him/her would think twice about making the delivery. Oh, and you’re right, Max is the good one around here, the rest are incorrigible.

      2. She is indeed formidable, especially for such a small cat. She’s only about 5 pounds. Thank you so much. If only science would…. I have had drivers drop and run when Bo gets worked up at the window 🤣. It’s a sight to see and if they only knew that he’s a big softie. It’s just that truck! Keep up the good work Max!

      3. Tiny cat! But it’s the size of the fight in the cat not the size of the something or other…I never got that quote right anyway. Bo is super photogenic – love that picture of him – but I understand how he could intimidate if he suddenly appeared without warning.

      4. Bo is the funniest. He is the cleanest big dog I’ve ever had. He can’t stand to get dirty. He almost doesn’t want to go outside 😂. And, I’m pretty sure he poses for photos. 😄

      4. Thank you dearly, Katy. It’s Sunday morning and ever so cloudy but the week has had enough sun to last me a few days of gentle and quiet gray. It’s a nice thing too. And your beautiful Star sprinkled hugs are just the thing for just this moment!!! I was saddened a few minutes ago to find this lovely note from you in spam 😞. How do these things happen, I’d like to know???? Katy is my Friend, not spam! On the other hand, I’m glad I checked and found you there and a true delight to do so 🥰❤️ Star sprinkled hugs and all….💖 ✨🤗✨💖… to YOU!!!
